COVID-19 POLICY

Formula Zero is committed to the safety and well-being of our athletes, coaches, and staff.

Athletes, coaches, and staff should not share or mix personal equipment or hydration devices and must practice good hygiene including hand washing. 

Athletes, coaches, and staff should contact Head Athletic Trainer if they are not feeling well or have any COVID-19 symptoms.   

1.     Head Athletic Trainer is contacted and will triage the athlete, coach, or staff.

2.     If COVID-19 symptoms are observed, a COVID-19 test will be arranged, and immediate quarantine will be required. 

3.     On-site screening and testing will follow federal, state, local, and institutional public health recommendations.

4.     AT’s or other certified medical professionals will perform COVID-19 antigen nasal swab and/or PCR nasal swab tests on site for COVID-19 testing.

5.     Individuals’ COVID-19 antigen tests are processed on-site for results.

6.     Potential positive tests – If an individual tests positive during camp:

  • They will be moved to their own individual hotel room (if they are already not in one).

  • All spaces and equipment that COVID-19 positive individual has used will be sanitized prior to next use.

  • They will have to remain at camp unless they can drive home (federal law prohibits people with positive tests from flying).  

  • Individual will be required complete at least 5 days of isolation and be fever free (without the use of fever reducing medicine) for at least 24 hours with symptoms improving.

  •  Individual to be test after 5 days of isolation. If test is negative and there are no symptoms, individual can travel. If test is positive, individual cannot travel until test is negative or until a full 10 days after they become symptomatic.

  • The CDC requires that individuals do not travel until 10 days after they become symptomatic.

  • Formula Zero will be responsible for the costs of their housing and food.

7.     COVID-19 testing is covered for both insured and uninsured patients under the CARES Act, therefore there is no charge to athletes, coaches or staff for testing.  

8.     All COVID-19 test results shall be communicated to Multnomah County and Oregon Health Authority (OHA) per OAR 333-018-0016.

 9.     All COVID-19 positive test results will be reported to Multnomah County at diseasereport@multco.us.
